It's funny Rachel, I had thought several times of that specific comment by Lee too. This is the simplicity of nondual awareness that is so unrecognizable. Lee can't attain pure awareness, pure awareness already has Lee. It's already done, it never wasn't the case. The illusion is that Lee is your core identity. You exist without Lee, but lee cannot exist without you, aligning with "That" you is remembering (not cognitively) your Self. You are That. Like Rachel's quote of Joshu, there is a common refrain that ebfore this recognition the mountains are mountains and the rivers are rivers. Once recognition of your Self "occurs," the mountains are no longer mountains and the rivers are no longer rivers, and once that recognition is realized to be non-phenomenal and intransient, i.e., not an experience, the mountains become mountains again and the rivers become rivers again.
