Dear John -- and Raven,

It was harsh.

I have never met so much collective narcissism and disconnection from reality as in the Integral ecosystem, and I am just appalled by it.

Sorry about the spontaneous reaction; five friends are currently trying to survive in or escape from Ukraine, Putin is hinting at nuclear war, and the IPCC has just announced that humanity has a narrow window to save a habitable planet.

I fully understand the need for escapism, but a group of people praising themselves of their elevated levels of consciousness ought be able to connect with the world and its problems and to feel and think beyond themselves.

Warmly,

Lene

Lene, I admire much of your work. I consider Adriana a friend and I admire her work well. And I found the tone of your response to her inappropriately and unnecessarily harsh. Regards, John Stokdijk.

Seriously?

The climate is changing, your country is flooding, and you explore it as a "level of "disconnection""???

Seems, you are pretty disconnected already.

Sorry about the harsh tone,

Lene

Hi Aydan,

I’d love to hear more of your thinking if you don’t mind sharing. I still haven’t has a chance to listen to the recordings but I was intrigued by your contemplations.

I’ll just share that it might take me a while to respond here because I live in a rural part of Australia that is currently experiencing flooding and we (the valley people - as we call ourselves :-)) are not only cut off from the closest town (due to the bridges being under water!) but also we have no phone lines and only a few neighbours have internet connection.

It's been interesting to experience this level of “disconnection” from the outside world. Such a rare thing these days.

This is just to say that my level of engagement should be slow…but I’m still curious and interested in your thoughts.

Welcome to the listserve.

Warmly,

Adriana

Both the Integral Stage and UTOKing conversations with Raven were so alive and intriguing. Thanks for making them! It directly fed into a train of thought I’ve been on about the 4Ps of knowing and the possibility that a lack of Participatory knowing is at the heart of the meta crisis.

First, does this map make sense? and is this echoed elsewhere?

Feminine<—>Perspectival (singular relational)<—>Participatory (cluster of causal relationships)

Masculine<—>Propositional (singular factoid)<—>Procedural (cluster of causal factoids)

When any of these cyclically looping elements is thrown off course, the others crumble and descend into entropy.

(Side note: I wonder if contemplative practices are only so powerful as practices tend towards combing at all levels of knowing, and so can assist the practitioner in inhabiting the balance of a co-gendered Non-Duality swimming in a sense of All-Encompassing One-ness.)

I recently joined this Listserv—it has been really amazing to see these emails.

Thanks Everyone!
Aydan

Gregg! Thanks for sharing this, it was such a fun conversation and dove tailed very well with the discussion that we just had on UTOK.

I’m looking forward to listening to both conversations (Gregg’s and Layman’s) thank you for posting.
