I like the idea of devotion Aydan, we seem to have lost some of our basic programming language, although devotion does lack a sense of wonder and awe that religion provides, you know when we first attributed a God like presence to the stars, I've always wondered if the burning bush on the mountain might have come from Africa and Mt Kilimanjaro, mystery seems to cause awe and I think that those aspects should be part of a religion that's not a religion. It seems intuitive to me that devotion is when we cross a line towards traditional religion as opposed to a meta modern religion that is not a religion. The relationship is different, but the quality remains. I think cults tend to contain devotion without a heart of reverence, and that this points towards some lack of ontological quality there that makes this form inherently dangerous.
