I too am grateful to Bonnie, Alison, Joan, Jean Keller and many others of you who seem quickly to have decided to write and distribute in various ways and places a letter spelling out FEAST's refusal to overlook policies that allow or excuse the bigoted cruelties you have described. I have missed all of the FEAST conferences, missed the terrific papers, and the gossip, walks along the beach, drinks by the beach lit up with little lights (so I imagine.)

And I miss more than I realize being an active part of a group that can have us see/hear the Janice Langbehn/Lisa Pond case, attend to the policies and conditions that make such "cases" possible, and then respond in a way that gives us, though we may be bystanders of your conferences, an opportunity to join a protest that is public and in our name. I thank all of you for the considerable work you are doing and the opportunity for protest you create.
