 Dear FEASTers,

It was an absolute delight to see so many of you over the weekend. Can
you please help me by distributing the following job ad for an opening
 in Ethics at Oregon?

For those who don't know, the University of Oregon has a
long-established emphasis in feminist philosophy, requires all grad
students to take two courses in feminist philosophy, has a faculty
consisting of 4 women and 5 men at the moment, generally has a grad
student (MA/PhD) population that is near or over 50% women, and attracts
some of the best feminist grad students in the country. We'd love to
have a strong pool of women/feminist applicants for this position! In
addition, Eugene is a beautiful place to live, about an hour from very
high mountains and the stunningly beautiful Oregon Coast, and home to
 the Willamette and McKenzie rivers.

University of Oregon, Eugene, OR. Assistant Professor of Philosophy,
tenure-track, beginning fall quarter, 2012. AOS: Ethics. AOC: Open, but
the Department is especially interested in the following areas: Gender
Theory, History of Philosophy, Social/Political Philosophy, Philosophy
of Law, and Logic. We are looking for someone who has a broad
pluralistic orientation that encompasses a variety of perspectives,
which must include being well-versed in approaches from within the
analytic tradition. We want candidates who reach beyond moral theory to
develop an engaged, embodied, culturally situated moral philosophy. Such
a candidate would be interested in topics such as contemporary moral
issues, environmental ethics, new research in moral psychology, and
issues arising from gender, race, and cultural institutions. Position
involves graduate and undergraduate teaching and maintaining an active
program of research. Undergraduate teaching and research/publication
experience and Ph.D. required. Salary will be competitive depending on
qualifications. We seek candidates with a commitment to working
effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
To assure full consideration, applications must be received by November
18, 2011, but position will remain open until filled. Complete
applications, including c.v., three letters of recommendation, evidence
of teaching excellence, and a writing sample should be filed at
http://academicjobsonline.org/ajo. For more information, please refer to
