Which is also why programs like PIKSI, which the APA does not want to continue to support on an on-going basis on the the philosophy that the APA should not be supporting such an entity, are so essential. Why the APA thinks it should not continue to support PIKSI, I and the Board members, have yet to figure out since the need for pipeline measures is so important. There are budget constraints, but diversifying the profession, starting with undergraduates should be a central priority. Perhaps if the APA National Board, through their divisional representatives, hears from its members that the APA should continue to fund PIKSI, the APA will see that there is widespread support for this program.

In the meantime, we welcome any suggestions from FEAST members for funding opportunities for PIKSI. We really do need all the help we can get if we are not to let this program die.

It also reminds us that we have work to do at an earlier level, to make sure that the percentage of women receiving degrees in philosophy increases.
