JOB ANNOUNCEMENT



University of Oregon, Eugene, OR. Assistant Professor of Philosophy, 
tenure-track, beginning fall quarter, 2017. AOS: Ethics - broadly 
construed for a pluralistic department (with faculty working in and 
across Continental, Feminist, American, Analytic, Latin American and 
Latino/a Philosophies, and Philosophies of Race and Ethnicity). AOC: 
Open, the following areas preferred: African American; History of 
Philosophy; Feminist Epistemology (epistemic injustice); Environmental 
Philosophy; Philosophy of Science and Technology; Asian, Middle Eastern 
Philosophy; and Social/Political Philosophy.We are looking for someone 
who has a broad philosophical orientation that encompasses a variety of 
perspectives as well as a demonstrated commitment and ability to work in 
a pluralistic environment. We want candidates who reach beyond moral 
theory to develop an engaged, embodied, culturally situated moral 
philosophy. Position involves graduate and undergraduate teaching and 
maintaining an active program of research. Undergraduate teaching and 
research/publication experience and Ph.D. required; completed PhD 
preferred at the time of application. Salary will be competitive 
depending on qualifications. Candidates should show a commitment and 
ability to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from 
diverse backgrounds. To assure full consideration, applications must be
