Leadership in ESWIP provides opportunities to interact with other women in the field and to learn more about the most recent developments in the profession. Eastern SWIP is a strong professional organization that supports women in the field. Its leadership has worked hard to make the annual award of Distinguished Woman Philosopher an exciting and important moment for the honoree and SWIP membership, and to make it a key event at the Eastern APA. We have sought to better support women candidates at APA meetings, and to foster the professional development of our membership at our annual meetings. New ESWIP officers will inherit these traditions and others, along with helpful planning documents to build on these successes.
