This season there is no requirement for the robot to leave Launch.

I remember years ago the robot had to completely leave the launch area or base as it was called.

When we look on page 19 of the rulebook it describes what happens inside home and on page 20 describes what happens outside of home. There's no limitation on how little or how much the robot has to move in and outside of launch. There's no penalty if the robot moves a little or moves a lot.

The only thing that might trip you up is on page 20, rule 1. The talks about what happens if the robot is partially in home when the team interrupts or touches the robot. When a robot is partially in home, the team would lose a precision token.
