Wow. I am originally from Wisconsin and attended UW-Madison as an undergraduate (early 90's) during which articles on gay and lesbian sexuality and white privilege didn't seem to create much of an uproar of which I was aware. This seems to be a sign that the far social right feels enboldened by the current political climate. I am sickened that this attack is targeting my beloved Madison. But I am heartened that the university has so far stood up for academic freedom.

Republican legislators in Wisconsin are threatening to reject the University of Wisconsin-Madison's requests for additional state funding unless an elective course they find offensive is cancelled and its professor is fired.
