Those within driving distance of Southwest Ohio might consider submitting to the conference below.  The call extends beyond the university itself, but no special arrangements have been made in terms of hotels, transit, etc..

Race, Class, Gender, Sexuality Symposium: Building Bridges, Creating Coalition 
FEBRUARY 25, 2011 
9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. 
Miami University Shriver Center, Oxford Campus 
 
Featuring Kum Kum Bhavnani, Professor of Feminist Studies and Sociology, University of California, Santa Barbara. Director of The Shape of Water, an award winning film on gender and development. For information on the film, which will be screened at the symposium, see http://www.theshapeofwatermovie.com/. Movie screening time: 4:10-5:30. Director talk and Q & A immediately following. 
 
Students, Faculty, Staff, and Community members are invited to propose papers, panels, workshops, poster sessions, and performances as part of a day long series of conversations about intersectional knowledge production and community engagement. Please submit a 250 word abstract of your proposed presentation or session to [log in to unmask] by January 21.
