Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy, 2022-23

The Department of Philosophy at Trinity University invites applications for a non-renewable, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor for 2022-23.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in philosophy by August 10, 2022.

The successful candidate will:

  1.  teach three classes in fall 2022 and three classes in spring 2023. The classes in the spring will be determined by the instructor???s strengths and the department???s needs, but will include the opportunity to teach an advanced undergraduate course. Anticipated department needs at the advanced level include: Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Art, and non-Anglo-European philosophies.
  2.  be available for office hours and responding to student inquiries associated with the courses taught.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1.  potential for and commitment to excellence in teaching at a highly selective undergraduate liberal-arts institution,
  2.  a commitment to Trinity's value of intentional inclusion, and
  3.  the ability to relate to students, faculty, and other constituencies of the university.

  4.  Evidence of teaching interests and abilities, including a 250-500 word statement describing your past efforts as well as your future plans to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in your teaching.
