Call for Pre-conference Workshop Proposal Collaborators
Conference: The Science of Consciousness (TSC)
Dates:  April 25-30, 2016; Pre-conference Workshops, April 25-26, 2016
Location: Tucson, AZ

Call for Pre-conference Workshop Collaborators
The philosophy of mind has been dominated by white, male perspectives despite the wealth of work in feminist literature on the topic of consciousness or intentionality, broadly construed. To address this problem, I am interested in submitting a proposal for a pre-conference workshop on Feminist Studies in Philosophy of Mind. I invite proposals for workshop talks to be included in the proposal. Workshops provide in-depth, detailed treatments of various methodologies, perspectives, reviews, or approaches.  I am especially interested in workshop talks on the topic of consciousness and intentionality from a feminist perspective. Proposals dealing with corollary issues like phenomenology, emotion, scientific approaches to consciousness are welcome, as long as they are clearly and appropriately related to the central topic of consciousness or intentionality.

Submission Details
Proposals should be between 500 words, and should clearly describe the author’s intent for their workshop talk and describe how the talk relates to the conference theme. The workshops are four hours long. I am looking for three talks to include with my own. Each talk would be about 1 hour long, including time for discussion or Q&A. All proposals should be prepared for blind review, removing any reference to the author. As a separate document, authors should provide a short CV containing contact information and relevant publications, presentations, and/or research on consciousness or intentionality from a feminist perspective. Please email your submission to [log in to unmask] with the subject line “TSC Collaboration Proposal from [your name].” After receiving proposals, I will contact those who will be included in the pre-conference workshop proposal that will be submitted to TSC in order to collaborate on the details of this proposal. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
