Dear FEAST-L Members,

I organize and promote an annual webinar event with author Jonathan Safran
Foer where he discusses animal and food ethics with high school and college
classes. Each time slot has a significant Q&A session, and it would be
great to have perspectives in feminist thought and intersectionality
represented here. Besides class participation, we also welcome
participation from individuals as well as organizations within or outside
academia. See the below promo letter for further details, and please let me
know if you have any questions.

Best,

Joey Tuminello

College and High School Educators:

Please consider this invitation to *bring the critically acclaimed novelist
Jonathan Safran Foer into your classrooms* to discuss his international
bestseller, *Eating Animals*
<http://send.prattwebdesign.com/t/r-i-outljdd-l-d/>. *Reserve now for Fall
2014. Limited space is available for this complimentary program.*

Set in the context of a larger journey of exploration, *Eating
Animals* presents
what many consider the most important popular critique of industrial
farming. As part of our broader educational efforts, *Farm Forward*
<http://send.prattwebdesign.com/t/r-i-outljdd-l-h/>, a national nonprofit
organization, is covering all costs of this program for educators who
discuss *Eating Animals* in their courses.

Foer’s first two books, *Everything is Illuminated* and *Extremely Loud &
Incredibly Close*, have both been made into major motion pictures and,
while highly regarded for their literary merit, are also popular with the
college demographic. *Kirkus Reviews* called *Eating Animals* “wholly
compelling” and the *LA Times* argues that it offers a wisdom “that, in all
its humanity and clarity, deserves a place at the table with our greatest
philosophers.” In recent years both Duke University and University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill made it required reading for their incoming freshman
class. The most frequent comment we hear from educators who use *Eating
Animals* is “I’ve never had such great classroom discussion!”

*On October 28, 2014, Jonathan Safran Foer will make a number of virtual
classroom visits to discuss Eating Animals, using professional webinar
technology.* See further details below.

Because *Eating Animals* looks at the consumption of animals from a variety
of perspectives, *it has been used successfully in a wide range of academic
fields, including Business, English, Environmental Studies, Philosophy,
Public Policy, and Religious Studies.*

Please consider passing this message on, and don’t hesitate to contact me
with further questions at the email below.

Sincerely,

Joey Tuminello

*Additional Information*

From 10:00am – 4:30pm (Eastern Time), there will be 8 available sessions to
choose from. Each session will consist of a 15-minute presentation by
Foer, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. While multiple classrooms may be
included in each time slot, there is limited space and high demand is
anticipated. With this in mind, we encourage all interested educators
to *schedule
their classroom visit from Foer as soon as possible. Instructors can sign
their classes up for a session by visiting our page on **SignUpGenius*
