The Philosophy Department at Missouri State University anticipates an August 2010 opening for a 1-year Instructor's position, with possible renewal.  Minimal requirements for this position are a Master's Degree or equivalent in Philosophy and documented excellence in teaching one's own classes.  The teaching load will be 4/4, and prospective hires must be prepared to teach the full range of introductory courses, including Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics and Contemporary Issues, and Critical Thinking. Preference will be given to those candidates with experience teaching Critical Thinking.  The department also has needs in Asian philosophy.
