As a political theorist, I'm not sure what a philosopher's voice is...at the last FEAST, you all sounded to me like feminists! ;-)

On a related thread, I went to the zazzle website that was recommended in this colloquy, and fell in love with the John Stuart Mill mug ("I never meant to say that conservatives were generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally conservative"). But didn't anyone else notice the "proud girlfriend of a philosopher" T-shirts--along with proud mothers of philosophers and proud sisters--and nothing about fathers, brothers, and boyfriends? Sure, if you are a girlfriend, sister or mother, the philosopher you are connected to could be a woman, but given the orientation of so many of their other products, I got the impression they were pretty heteronormative and therefore those slogans were pretty sexist. So do I have to pass on my Hobbes of Malmesbury T-shirt?

I imagine that store owns the copyright and image. I can't figure out how to request that it be offered as a t-shirt, so I submitted this as a question to zazzle support. It will take several days for them to get back to me. Earlier this year I ordered posters from zazzle to help market philosophy at UD. Our chair paid for a poster of choice for each philosopher's office door. There are a number of catchy and fun posters to choose from, including the "Don't make me use my philosopher voice" poster. I agree that it would be great as a t-shirt!

When you need to dress up a little, simply throw a blazer on over your t-shirt! Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing you've contributed money to the CSW.
