Hi folks-
I awoke this morning to the heart-breaking news of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history<http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/02/us/las-vegas-attack-deadliest-us-mass-shooting-trnd/index.html>. This event, of course, follows on the heels of other tragedies (like Hurricanes Harvey and Maria) that have also affected our country.
I have turned to these two articles in the past to help guide me in tragic times:
* In the Eye of the Storm: Students' Perceptions of Helpful Faculty Actions Following a Collective Tragedy (Huston & DiPietro)<chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboihttps:/podnetwork.org/content/uploads/In_the_Eye.pdf>
* The Day After: Faculty Behavior in Post 9/11 Climate (DiPietro)<chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboiebfhttps:/podnetwork.org/content/uploads/The_Day_After.pdf>
If you don't have time or energy to read articles right now, Vanderbilt's Center for Teaching also offers some quick ideas for teaching in times of crisis:

I hope these resources will help you today.
