Hi List,
Just put up a new blog, exploring some of the issues of how the ToK System intersects with the "institutional problem" of defining psychology.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/theory-knowledge/201910/the-problem-psychology-and-the-tok-system
One of the things I have become more conscious of as of late is just how embedded my frame of knowledge has been in American Psychology. I am THANKFUL for that in that it was the intersection of the hole in American psychology (and American clinical psychology in particular) that allowed me to see what I saw. However, it also meant that the ToK is, in some ways, tied up in that language system. It can be separated from it, but to be clear, we need to be deliberate about doing so.
Best,
Gregg
