Thanks for  your note. I think parenting is a subset of interpersonal relations, what an expanded ergonomics would call the Person 1 - Person 2  interface. That is, we need design the dependent variable person, by taking into account independent variable person. This applicable to education ( teacher  and student in Socrates, Bruner, Whitehead, Kessen, Olver), cybernetics/government (ruler and the ruled),  religion (clergy and the believer),  any company (boss and employee), parent and child, medicine (bedside manners of doctor to patient) and so on. Parenting is not that different from any social institution.  I would probably add parenting for any fourth edition to my Unified Philosophy.
Warmly,Michael

I have several additional parenting books to recommend.
The Heart of Parenting by John Gottman, Ph.D. is a classic parenting book that presents Gottman's research on emotion coaching.
Michelle Borba, Ed.D. has written two recent books: Unselfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World  andThrivers: The Surprising Reasons Why Some Kids Struggle and Others Shine.
I would also like to add my own parenting book to the list: Pride and Joy: A Guide to Understanding Your Child’s Emotions and Solving Family Problems.
