Dear Gregg,

I hope you are doing great!

I wanted to share this with you because I admire your work so much and you
know so many folks who might be interested. We are editing a new book about
haptics (therapeutic touch is the overarching theme) and thought you or your
students might have something to share in a chapter? Here is the proposal
web page:

We are pretty open to theory - so TOK folks are welcome! Our publisher is
pretty open too. Would you mind passing it along? Theoretical psychology
doesn't often get a chance to really express itself - Dr. Markey and I are
hopeful this will be one of those opportunities. the main thing IGI looks
for is credentials and a solid theory (ideally some evidence/observations
too). I will be doing two chapters, but the other 13 will come from
international contributions so I am hoping lots of folks will send in their
proposals. I am working on remote wearable devices to haptically reinforce
that someone is thinking about us - a kind of silent reminder that we matter
to someone dear to us. Several young women have come to my attention who are
afraid of being hugged, but need that sort of tactile reinforcer anyway - to
know that somebody values them - a bit like Temple Grandin's mechanical
squeezing solution for clients with ASD. a little squeeze on the wrist after
an outgoing cry (do I matter?) may be just the thing during this social
distancing period.

Thanks Gregg! Hope you are doing well. please feel free to share!

--Lonny

Subject: TOK UTOKing with Alexander Elung

Episode 20: UTOKing with Alexander Elung August 2, 2021

Title: A Dialogos on the Nature of Emergence

In Episode 20, Gregg welcomes Alexander Elung. Alexander Elung is a
screenwriter and composer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is currently
writing a play about Carl Jung and composing music for a play based on
Emilie Brontes novel Wuthering Heights. Alexander is a member of the
philosophy forum IDW and have amongst other things been active in the
development of transcendental emergentism, along with Alexander Bard. In
this episode, he and Gregg explore the similarities and differences on the
concept of emergence between his vision and that afforded by UTOK. As such,
this episode gives listeners a deep dive into key metaphysical concepts.
