Gregg:

Thanks.
He does have some thoughts which are pertinent to The TOK Society.
He words remind me of some from long ago:

You are your thoughts, your thoughts govern your words;
You are your words, your words govern your actions;
You are your actions,
Your thoughts, words, and actions together constitute your ethical substance, they are and shall be your identity.

from Zoroaster, approx 3500 BCE.
as quoted in: Bard, A & Söderqvist, , Syntheism - Creating God in the Internet Age, pg 386.

Perhaps helpful thoughts as we strive to define The TOK Society’s guiding roots and its intent?

Best regards,

Waldemar

I like Pinker in many ways, but he is too entrenched in the old Enlightenment version of reality. And he does not fully appreciate the nature of the problem of psychology. He is a neuro-cognitive functionalist who thinks that is enough to understand “the mind,” but I disagree. But, I find him, along with other psychologists like Jordan Peterson and Jonathan Haidt, to be interesting to listen to and identify points of commonality and disagreement.
