Thanks, Mike.

And this is why it is so clear to me to frame my approach as being in the territory of metapsychology. To approach the science of psychology, we need to be clear about philosophical issues upfront.

This statement...

Let me offer one point of clarity…the Enlightenment Gap (see here<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.psychologytoday.com_us_blog_theory-2Dknowledge_202010_the-2Denlightenment-2Dgap&d=DwMFaQ&c=eLbWYnpnzycBCgmb7vCI4uqNEB9RSjOdn_5nBEmmeq0&r=HPo1IXYDhKClogP-UOpybo6Cfxxz-jIYBgjO2gOz4-A&m=MT-F-I4Ycah13u5081CbLWc_P4c5a6T2tI1OmC9tae0&s=zMDZTt2EsWzSHbPnHmUgzFt0KJ-SZOt4dnWZTwHqwYk&e=>) refers to the fact that Enlightenment Science/philosophy PRODUCES the problem of psychology

...is, well, well-stated!

This is why philosophy is so important for the sciences — because philosophical presuppositions — implicit or explicit — prefigure and produce the problems (good and bad) of any given scientific field!
