And this is precisely why I --- and so many others --- have tried to get people to learn about Modern MonetaryTheory (MMT) for years. The basics are not hard. Letting go of false fundamental assumptions about federal financing (or the financing of any national government that issues its own currency) is the tricky part. I guess that's where psychologists come in.

Now, our lives are on the line.

Step 1: Stop listening to mainstream, orthodox economists. Ignore them. Completely.
