The El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) brings variation in the direction
and strength of the Gulf Stream. On a larger scale with the Milankovitch
Cycles, we
get ice ages in the Northern Hemisphere every 25,000 years or so.

I detected an 800-year cycle similar to ENSO in the regional, synchronous
evidence ot climate change as part of my Master's research with Paul
Colinvaux
in neotropical paleocology.

The weather/warming/climate change gets all of the attention. The wealth
nations will cope by capitalizing on (mostly) coastal disasters. It will
lead to a surge in economies.
But the chronic exposure of humans *and other living things* to industrial
and other toxins is by far more of a permanent existentialist concern from
my vantage point.

So much so I've launch a course *"Environmental Toxicology: Ecosystem and
Human Health"*

Those who are interested can sign up for a full semester of live lectures
at IPAK-EDU.org, syllabus attached.

The first lecture video is here

Thank you for the info on action research - we need think tanks and
attempts to implement solutions. Drastic and dramatic change will lead to
societal upheaval.
We must find the selfish motives for finding ways to increase homeostasis
between this planet, its non-human inhabitants, and its peoples.

I hope to see you in class!
