Hi TOK List,

  I thought I would share this NY Times essay on the remarkable depletion of bird populations in North American<https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/19/opinion/crisis-birds-north-america.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_190920?campaign_id=2&instance_id=12352&segment_id=17183&user_id=8e4f03af2447d5adeb5069c9fb9bdf47&regi_id=352238940920>. It hurt reading it.

  On the more hopeful side, I found this 10 minute video on the "Emerge" Movement to be heartening:

I invite folks to sit with the juxtaposition...and reflect on both the problems of the 21st Century and what humanity needs to be moving toward.
