Tom -

Saturday is a little more laid back with time for activities with the kids.
As I recall the day is split between morning/afternoon with either
activities or judging in the half you are assigned.

JMU students run the kid activities and are a great bunch. What I did was
let the parents scoot off to shop or visit Harrisonburg and I would text
them updates on what the kids were doing and where we were at on Saturday.
Sunday is pedal to the metal robot fun so everybody is on deck for that! :-)

Hope this helps and congratulations!

Charles

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] State Tournament Question

We are a first year team who will be going to Harrisonburg. I see it is two
days, and wondered if anyone could give details concerning what to expect.
For example, is the first day more focused on project presentations and
events that parents and the public do not observe, while the second day is
more spectator oriented? Should I recommend entire families attend one or
both days, or is it better to suggest something else? (We have a mix of
older and younger siblings- the younger ones get easily bored and cranky;
the teens start out that way.)

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

A big thanks to all who run the Chantilly HS event yesterday- We had a great
time.
