And to add to what Mike said… the reasoning behind this is that, even if there was a team there, there is no guarantee that they would attempt the mission or attempt it successfully.

No, not this year. You do not receive the bonus if the other table is empty.

We try not to have empty tables, but occasionally it does happen and it's fairly random when it does.

We have an empty opponent table for one of our rounds. Do we get the bonus points for our "opponent" completing smart grid or do we not?
