Unfortunately I don't control the advertising on the website. The program is open (and free) to all educators in Virginia! First priority goes to the folks listed but we only filled to half capacity last year so PLEASE sign up!

If anyone has troubles signing up - have them contact me.

Nick:

Thank you for the information about the Robotics class for teachers. We would love to promote it in the community of school science teachers in Norther Virginia -- the more teachers that integrate robotics in the classroom, the better off all of us would be in the science, technology and mathematics community.

However, when I clicked on the link, it looked like there was a geographic limitation to the program -- only teachers in certain school districts seemed to be eligible (none in Northern Virginia). Is this a restriction on just scholarship eligibility or is registration not open to local science teachers.

P.S. We haven't yet organized the meeting we were planning in December to discuss and advance shared goals -- it is already March. How time flies! Let me know if you are still interested.

P.P.S. MRI is also running summer camps. We'd love to have those added to the list, if possible. Please let us know.

All,

Here's what I collected so far.

I've asked Ralph to post this on the web. It isn't particularly well formatted to do that so I suspect it will be a couple days until he finds the time if it's possible.

In the meantime - I figured you could all share this around.

Just FYI - we are also doing a robotics workshop for teachers here at JMU June 27th - July 1st. Enrollment fees, room, board, and even CEU/Graduate tuition is covered by the grant funding so no excuses! You'll participate in some great classes led by professors in our Physics department. They do a great job showing how to integrate robotics into math classes at the K12 level.

See: http://www.jmu.edu/contentacademy/rob10.shtml for more information.
