Hi Catherine,
I am the FIRST Senior Mentor for Washington, DC. But I live in Falls Church and there is a close relationship with VA and DC Jr.FLL. I am additional resourse and host a number of Jr.FLL off season events.
I think Jr.FLL is best formed with a group of friends or students at a common school or organization. Searching for a team to join is not always the best way to get your kids involved.
FIRST is always looking for coaches and mentors. FRC, FTC and FLL all can use coaches and mentors as well as volunteers at events.
I look forward to helping in any way I can.
Don

Subject: Re: [VADCJRFLL-L] Looking to join a Jr FLL team in Northern VA
Thanks John. I'm hoping to either join or form a group in the Fairfax
County area, specifically Fairfax Station, Lorton, Burke, and Springfield
areas. Please let me know if you're either looking to join a team or if you
have a spot on an existing Ffx Cty-based team.
If I end up forming a team, the company that I work for has a Community
Relations program that can help us find mentors/coaches. Email me and
let me know if you're in the cities I mentioned above and would like to form
a team. I believe registration begins 8/1 for Fall season teams.
Thanks!
Catherine
