Reminder of FTC workshop this Sunday (Aug 14) in Northern Virginia - for those considering to transition to FTC.
This workshop is intended for both students and coach/mentor. It will enable to get a faster start on FTC programming on the Android platform and jump-start into FTC. We'll also cover other important topics - Engineering notebook requirements, award categories, and lesson learned.
* Registration is required (for each participant). Registration link is at virginiafirst.org (under "Upcoming Events"). If anyone is interested to attend but is NOT part of an FTC team yet, you can use neighborhood name or school name in team# field.
Thanks.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] Transitioning from FLL to FTC - free workshops

Those who are maturing in FLL and like to consider FTC as next step, here are some information that can help –

* FTC is for students in grades 7-12 and is quite different than FLL in that it’s more on robot build and programming (Java/Android based programming on much bigger robot with metal, electronics, electrical wires, etc.)

* There’re lots of online resources for transitioning. Two workshops are scheduled this summer in VA, focusing on the new programming platform (introduced last season):

    1)  FTC Programming Workshop
Sat, July 16 (Richmond area - Mechanicsville)
Instructor: Matt Glennon and Matt Schubert
        (Few seats are still available)

    2) FTC Android/JAVA Programming Workshop
Sun, Aug 14 (Northern Virginia area - Fairfax)
By FTC team 9901 "Techie Titans", Inspire Award 2nd place winner from 2016 Virginia State Championship
