We are not aware of any teams in Virginia or DC that have used Python for
programming their FLL robot.

I suspect that a handful of teams from across the world used Python for the
City Shaper season. I am not aware of any team-posted experiences.

FIRST doesn't think that choice of programming language will make a
significant difference in what robots are able to do. Based on my
experience with programming languages, I agree. The differences will be in
ease of learning and ease of use, including maintainability.

My expectation for the upcoming challenge (the overall season theme for
FIRST programs is GAME CHANGERS) is that FIRST and LEGO Education will
again publish a sample mission (or part of a mission.). Spike Prime comes
with a Scratch environment for programming, and EV3 (and predecessors) came
with the MINDSTORMS environment, but the pseudocode is going to be pretty
much the same for both.
